After a lot of walking, a lot of handing out resumes, and a lot of interviews, I was offered three jobs. Two in retail and one in food services. My last interview was for a FOH position, and I went in yesterday for the interview.
I sat down.
He sat down.
“Want to be a hostess?” he asked.
“Yes—“ I started.
“Great. You’re hired!”
And then he gave me a high five.
Yep. That is my one word interview story.
Why did you choose THIS one? you might be asking. Well, I’m new to the city. I’m going to be greeting a lot of new faces. I’m going to be at the heart of all of the action. Plus, the staff and management seem friendly and fun. Basically, what I’m saying is, this job is a social one. And that’s what I’m looking for in a new city. I want to get my hands dirty! Plus, it’s a very busy restaurant, so I’ll have to be on my toes. I have been told by many that the hours in retail go by very slowly. (The managers for retail actually all seemed really nice too, but…) I think this job will be a lot more action. And I can’t say for sure, but I think I’ll learn a lot more as well. I think it’s a bit more challenging. And on top of that - free food ;)
